As you may be aware, the Department for Education (DfE) published its Schools White Paper, Every child achieving and thriving, in February 2026. The White Paper sets out the Government’s intention to put collaboration at the heart of the education system, moving towards all schools joining or forming high-quality school trusts. The DfE believes that strong school trusts can bring significant benefits through collaboration, including sharing resources and best practice, strengthening leadership and governance, and supporting schools to improve outcomes for children.

After carefully considering all of the factors involved, the governing body of Rakegate Primary School applied to become an academy and has now been granted permission to convert and join Ignite Learning Partnership.  This means that we will be part of a multi academy trust comprising of a family of five schools.  More information about Ignite Learning Partnership, including vision and values, can be found by accessing the following website: Ignite Learning Partnership | United Kingdom (ignitelp.co.uk)

The governing body is now consulting with staff, pupils, parents, carers and the community on the school’s conversion to academy status. Please see attached documents regarding this.
